Ha lasciato il suo paese per studiare in Spagna. Dal 1973 al 1978 ha frequentato l'Accademia de Bellas Artes di Granada e Siviglia. Nel 1979 si trasferisce a Zurigo, dove vive e lavora per quattro anni. I suoi primi dipinti maturi si sono sviluppati nel 1980. La sua prima mostra personale in una istituzione pubblica, si è svolta a Bonn nel 1983 presso la "Bonn Kunstverein". Nel corso degli ultimi anni Ikemura ha tenuto numerose mostre personali in Gallerie ed Istituzioni pubbliche come ad esempio: Museum fur Gegenwartskunst a Basilea nel 1987, Melbourne International Biennal nel 1999 nel padiglione del Giappone. Nel 1985 si trasferisce a Colonia. Nel 1987 comincia ad interessarsi anche alla scultura. Dal 1990, la figura femminile diventa l'obiettivo principale del suo lavoro. Dal 1991 Ikemura insegna pittura presso la "Universitat der Kunste di Berlino.

He left his country to study in Spain. 1973-1978 he attended the Accademy "Bellas Artes Granada Siviglia". In 1979 he moved to Zurich where he lives and works for four years. His first mature painting they grew in 1980. His first solo exhibition in a public istitution he has held in Bonn in 1983 at the "Bonn Kunstverein". In recent years Ikemura has held numerous solo exhibitions in galleries and public istitutions such as: Museum fur Gegenwartskunst in Basel in 1987, Melbourne International Biennial in 1999 in the pavilion of Japan. In 1985 he moved to Cologne. In 1987 he also became interested in sculpture. Since 1990 the female figure become the target principal of is works.  Since 1991 Ikemura she theaces painting at "Universitat der Kunste" Berlin.

Nato negli Stati Uniti d'America, ha trascorso la sua infanzia in Svizzera. Ha studiato pittura alla Rhode Island School of Design negli Stati Uniti e al Camberwell School of Art di Londra. Jeffrey Isaac ha esposto le sue opere negli Stati Uniti, in Svizzera, in Germania e in Italia. Nel 1986 si trasferisce in Umbria vicino a Spoleto, incontra l'artista americano Sol Lewitt e ne diventa un suo buon amico. Nel 2007 ha progettato l'animazione per l'esecuzione de il "Corvo" dal LAMA Experimental Theater Company alla 38° Biennale di Teatro a Venezia e nel 2009 partecipa ad un evento collaterale alla 53° Biennale d'Arte a Venezia.

Born in the United States, he spent his childhood in Switzerland. He studied painting at Rhode Island School of design in the United States and at the Camberweel School of Art in London, Jeffrey Isaac has exhibited his works in The United States, Switzerland, Germany and Italy. In 1986 he moved to Umbria near Spoleto, met the American artist Sol Lewitt and became a good friend. In 2007 he designed the animation for the execution of the "Raven" by LAMA  Experimental Theater Company Theater in the 38 th Biennale di Venezia and in 2009 partecipated in a side event at the 53 rd Biennale of Art in Venice.

Compie gli studi artistici a Torino, dove risiede. Nel 1963 è cofondatore del "Gruppo sperimentale d'Arte" di Torino, in cui opera fino allo scioglimento (1966) , interessandosi alla visualità strutturale e alle ricerche di Arte programmata. Partecipa dal 1968 al 1986 all'attività dell'operativo "ti zero" di Torino gestendolo dal 1971 al 1982 l'omonimo centro di ricerca estetica e collaborando all'organizzazione di esposizioni, dibattiti e interventi d'ambiente. Presenta nelle opere pittoriche ambiguità percettive, effetti di campo, interazioni cromatiche e strutturali. Estende l'attività nel settore della "copy art" e dell'arte postale. Nel 1986 è cofondatore dello studio "Quantica" di Torino, di cui coordina l'attività artistica.

He completed his art studies in Torin where he lives.In 1963 he co-founded the " Experimental Art Group " in Torin, where it operates until its dissolution (1966) , dealing wits structural visuality and research of programmed art.
